Segments and recording

Create segments, start recording, Just Record Driving, pause, save, and auto-stop.

Segments

A segment is a saved trip shape (for example Home → Office). Create one in Segments: set a name, color/icon, source and destination pins (search or tap the map). Plane segments use airport search and nautical units.

Every normal recording is tied to a segment ID so history and ghost races stay comparable.

Start recording

  1. Tap Start on the map.
  2. Pick a nearby or other segment (or resume a paused session).
  3. Recording arms until you actually move; elapsed stays --:-- until capture opens.
  4. Tap Stop to review, then save, pause, or discard.

Just Record Driving

Optional: record without picking a segment first. On save you can keep a driving recording only or attach/create a segment. There is no “Just Record Flight” — aviation needs a planned plane segment.

Pause and limits

  • Pause on the save sheet stashes the session so you can resume later.
  • Free tier may auto-save unfinished runs after a time limit (shown in history).

Auto-stop at destination

In Settings you can enable auto-stop when you dwell near the destination. A ring on the destination pin shows progress while recording.
